About the Team

A partnership of family, faith, and professional expertise.

At Satio-LS, our leadership is bound by more than just a business plan. We are a team of relatives and friends who know each other through our church community and shared family heritage. We believe that the strongest foundations are built on trust, shared values, and a collective commitment to excellence.

Leadership Team

Bound by trust, shared values, and a commitment to excellence.

Peter Klassen

Founder & Chief Technology Officer

Peter is a global authority in Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) with over 20 years of experience in platform design and process optimisation. His career has been dedicated to the “how” of medicine transforming complex chemical breakthroughs into stable, industrial scale realities.

As the visionary behind the Satio platform, Peter combines deep technical expertise with the Mittelstand tradition of engineering precision. For Peter, process optimisation is a form of stewardship: making the complex simple and the expensive affordable.

Chris is responsible for navigating the capital-intensive journey of pharmaceutical scaling while maintaining the integrity and purpose that define our family-led culture.

Why Our Team is Different

Not assembled. Already aligned.

Relational Integrity

We are not a group of strangers brought together by a recruiter; we are a community of professionals who have walked together in faith for years.

The Mittelstand DNA

With the Klassen family heritage at our core, we bring a long-view approach to innovation that is rare in the fast-paced world of startups.

De-Risked Leadership

By combining 20 years of CMC expertise with 25 years of corporate finance experience, alongside senior legal counsel and pastoral oversight, we have created a balanced board that understands science, capital, law, and ethics in equal measure.

Our Mission & Values

Business as mission, excellence in the service of neighbour and society.

The Heart of Our Name: Satio

At Satio-LS, our identity is rooted in a deliberate choice. In Latin, Sātiō (from the verb serere, “to sow”) refers not to the seed itself, but to the active, purposeful act of planting.

While sēmen is the seed, sātiō is the intentional labor that puts that seed into the ground with an eye toward a future harvest. For us, this distinction is everything. It represents:

  • Purposeful Action: We do not wait for progress; we cultivate it through rigorous science.
  • Faithful Stewardship: We act responsibly in the present, trusting in the growth that follows.
  • Long-term Vision: Like the sower, we look past the immediate horizon toward a harvest of healing and order.

1. Business as Mission (BAM)

We believe that business is a high calling. We do not separate our faith from our work; rather, we let our faith drive our professionalism. A “successful” venture must provide spiritual, social, and economic value. Our technical precision in the lab is a direct expression of our love for our neighbour.

2. The Mittelstand Tradition

Rooted in our family’s German heritage, we embrace the Mittelstand philosophy of “Generational Stewardship.” This means:

  • Prioritizing long-term stability over short-term “exits.”
  • Maintaining a deep commitment to our employees and partners.
  • Investing our own capital to de-risk innovations before seeking outside partnership.

3. Ethical Infrastructure

As a company led by a Vicar in the Church of England, a global CMC expert, and senior legal counsel, our governance is built on a foundation of radical transparency. We believe clear ethical guidelines are not a constraint on business, but the engine that makes sustainable growth possible.

4. Global Compassion

Our mission does not stop at the laboratory door. Our family’s commitment to humanitarian and Christian outreach specifically our active work in Ukraine, is a tangible extension of our values. If we have the capacity to help rebuild and restore, we have a responsibility to do so.

The Satio Promise

We are a team of relatives and friends who believe that business can, and should, change society for the better. By mastering the complex chemistry of high-potency generics, we are sowing the seeds for a world where life-saving medicine is no longer a luxury, but a common good.

“The sower acts responsibly, growth itself is not forced. Planting belongs to us, the harvest belongs to God.”

Let’s Sow the Future Together

At Satio-LS, we believe that the most significant breakthroughs happen when technical excellence meets shared values. Whether you are a potential partner, an investor, or someone who shares our “Business as Mission” heart, we would welcome the opportunity to connect.

We are currently seeking partners who share our commitment to long-term stewardship and the industrial scaling of life-saving medicine.
